I’ve decided to start teaching myself Python using this fun little book, Invent Your Own Computer Games With Python. So far, I’ve managed to “Hello world!” myself, ask myself for my name and then get a cheery name-customized response. Clearly, it is only a matter of days before I’m ready to conquer the world with my legions of flying shark commandos with head-mounted laser cannons. You’ve been warned.
Urgent Evoke is a, well, it’s hard to explain. It’s part ARG (alternate reality game) where you read comic-book storyboarded missions and play along by taking on quests and completing missions. It’s also part online social community, where you make friends and engage in discussions. And it’s an experiment in social engineering and innovation, bringing the power of crowdsourcing to answer the Big Problems like poverty, hunger, violence and so on.
Also, it’s a lot of fun. If you’re interested in being a social innovator – or just playing secret agent while you save the world – you just might want to check it out.

That? I want that. Somehow, some way, I’m going to be bringing those words and the feelings behind them into my life somehow. Because I really, really want that.

Randomness As Meaning
The entire star explodes. No neutron star, no black hole, nothing left behind but an expanding cloud of newly radioactive material and empty space where once was the most massive item you can actually have without ripping space.
Read the article. It’s quick, it’s got a lot of science bang for the buck (literally), and it’s awesome in the Old Testament meaning of awesome.
